WHAT IS THYROID?

The thyroid is an endocrine gland that is butterfly size and is located in the throat. This leads to thyroid hormone which balances metabolism in the body. The thyroid gland creates hormones with the help of iodine from the body. When the secretion of the Thyroid hormone becomes unbalanced, it causes many problems in the body. To control this diet of the thyroid patient is highly recommended.

The thyroid is mainly of two kinds:

HYPOTHYROID:

The thyroid gland is not active in it, so T3, T4 hormones do not reach the body according to the need. As a result, the weight of the body suddenly increases weight gaining, feeling lethargic, the body’s ability to fight diseases decreases, Irregular period, swelling of face and eyes, swelling of constipation etc.

HYPERTHYROID:

In this thyroid gland becomes very active. T3, T4 hormones go into an excessive amount and dissolve in the blood. In this condition, the cause of the body suddenly decreases.

Muscles become weak. Appetite seems excessive, does not sleep well, nature becomes irritable. There is also an increased risk of irregularity, increased bleeding problems, and miscarriage.

WHOLE GRAINS –

A thyroid patient should eat 200 to 300 grams of grain throughout the day. Whole grains are very beneficial in the problem of thyroid. Apart from this, fiber-rich foods also relieve constipation and help in weight loss.

EAT PROTEIN-RICH FOODS –

Lentils contain very small quantities of fat and high amounts of protein and antioxidants. Foods with high protein are beneficial for thyroid hormones. Apart from this, it also helps in reducing fatigue and weight.

SEEDS –

Omega-3 acid is found in the nut, which strengthens body fatigue, disease resistance, and brain cells. Selenium is found in high quantities of dried fruits, which helps stimulate the thyroid gland.

So eat selenium-rich foods such as walnuts, sunflower seeds etc. Do not eat more than 2 to 3 dried fruits in one day because they have very high fat and more fat increases the thyroid problem.

FISH –



Carnivores can eat fish for omega-3 fatty acids. Salmon, tuna, sardine (a type of fish) contains omega-3 fatty acids in very high concentrations.

Hypothyroidism is a problem of inflammation in the body; fish oil helps in fixing it. Apart from this, the disease also strengthens the immune system.

DAIRY PRODUCTS –

Calcium and protein are present in excess quantities of milk and other dairy products. When the thyroid is reduced in the body, eating these foods helps to normalize the thyroid level.

Calcium strengthens your muscles and helps in the spread of protein thyroid hormones throughout the body. So eat low-fat milk, buttermilk, curd, and cheese. Do not eat these foods more than 300 to 350 grams a day.

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES –



Vegetables and fruits rich in antioxidants reduce body tension and keep skin healthy too. Along with this, they strengthen the immune system and also reduce the problem of hypothyroidism.

Eat at least 500 to 600 gm. of vegetables and fruits daily. You can take them in the form of salad soup, juice or boiled or detox water. Also eat vegetables like carrot, tomato, avocado, cucumber, capsicum, mushroom, beet, potato, pumpkin, onion, blueberries, and capsicum.

Along with this, also eat fruits such as apples, cherries, grapes, kiwi, and papaya. Along with vegetables in the problem of the thyroid, you should also eat herbs such as chilies, garlic, cinnamon, turmeric, parsley. They help in increasing your digestive tract.


Diet Of Thyroid Patient: What To Avoid

SOYBEANS –




According to a study, phytoestrogen was found in products containing soybeans and soya, which prevents the activities of enzyme-producing thyroid hormones.

Therefore, foods containing soybean or soya should not be eaten. It has also been revealed in research that women who eat soya beans are three times more likely to develop hypothyroidism.

FAT FOODS –




Bad fat turns into saturated fatty acids and eliminates the ability to absorb body thyroid hormones. Apart from this, fat also affects the hormones coming from the thyroid gland. Do not eat chips, French fries, fried chicken, butter, mayonnaise, pasta, bread, burgers, canned foods, jelly, pastries, jams, and more fat dairy products.

ALCOHOL AND CAFFEINE –

Alcohol affects both thyroid gland and thyroid levels in the body. Apart from this, it also reduces the absorption capacity of the thyroid’s thyroid. Therefore, the problem of thyroid should not drink alcohol at all.

PROCESSED FOOD –

Processed food should not be eaten in the problem of thyroid, because sodium dehydration content is very high in it. Sodium is very harmful to patients with hypothyroidism or thyroid deficiency.

Eating processed food cookies, cakes, pasta, and bread not only increases blood sugar levels but also has blood pressure problems.
